Abstract :

Semantic Web provides a common framework that allows data to be shared and reused across applications. This web is called as a next generation web that focuses on creating web content for human consumption as well as machines to understand and to interpret. Many vocabularies exist to define the concepts and relationships used to describe the data. The role of vocabularies on the semantic web is to help data integration. The Friend of a Friend (FOAF) project is one of the largest projects on the Semantic Web. FOAF has become a widely accepted standard vocabulary for representing social networks. This paper discusses about FOAF scutter, which crawls the FOAF metadata on the web. The proposed FOAF scutter is based on coocurrences of FOAF keywords on web and analyzes their properties. This paper also discusses about some of the privacy issues related to FOAF metadata..
