Abstract :

Nowadays, in the strong development trend of the mobile software, the performance improvement problem of mobile software plays an important role. However, mobile devices are limited on CPU, memory, screen and real time problem. In the distributed environment, the mobile software needs the significant time to transport data on the network. And this affects to software performance when data size is large. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the performance improvement method to the distributed mobile software based on data compression. Data is compressed before it is transferred. After receiving, it is decompressed to process.  The paper also presents an experimental case study on improving performance of Nom character recognition software on the distributed mobile environment.
